WHAT WE DO

We turn stories into evidence—and evidence into action—partnering with frontline communities to co-create ethical, open environmental data and practical solutions that strengthen long-term social, environmental, and economic resilience.

Our Mission

Sustainable Strides empowers communities on the frontlines of climate change by pairing honest storytelling with collaborative field science to collect, steward, and share environmental data that informs decisions and inspires public understanding.

Our approach

We lead with curiosity and humility. We begin by listening to community priorities and lived experience—especially in under-resourced regions—to ensure consent, relevance, and respect, and to learn which stories and measurements matter most on the ground.

We do the work in the field. Our teams collect ground observations, samples, and data using specialized equipment and clear methods, with strong safety planning and rigorous QA/QC so results are accurate, transparent, and reusable. We minimize our footprint and carefully document our process.

We share responsibly. We translate findings into human-centered stories and plain-language resources, returning value to host communities while contributing to the broader scientific record through ethical data practices and open access whenever appropriate.

Our Values

Sustainable Strides is built on genuine experiences, honest storytelling, and real data. Through endurance, exploration, and education, we inspire individuals and communities to believe in a sustainable future and take action toward meaningful change.

The nonprofit bridges scientists, explorers, and local communities to create a deeper understanding of environmental issues. Whether through cutting-edge field research or new communication strategies, the organization embraces creative solutions to make climate science more accessible and impactful.
